That...that was a lot to unpack. His mind spun as he stared at Angel's back. He debated what to say.

With a snap of his fingers, he was fully dressed again.

"You're quite attractive," Alastor admitted. "And honestly my personal feelings on sex aside, I don't look down on you for your profession. As I've gotten to know you and after that incident where you pushed me away when I was inebriated so you didn't give into your own base impulses, I now understand that your...offer...on our first meeting had been a jest. You may tease me about such things, but you never force the issue. I respect that."

He reached up to fitfully tug at an ear.

"Though I admit that I don't know if my feelings run deeper for you are not, I enjoy your company. I enjoy both our back-and-forths and our quiet moments. I feel...safe...when I tell you things about myself that are deeply personal and that I'd gut anyone else for even attempting to learn. I like you, too, Angel, but...I'm just not certain how far that goes." He gave an awkward smile in case Angel looked back at him, still absently tugging on his ear. "I wish I could give a better, more definite response to you."

Though now he wondered what messages Angel had left on his phone. A shame Angel had deleted --

No wait. He hadn't. Or at least he likely hadn't. Angel had been so distracted by Alastor's injuries yesterday, he hadn't touched the mobile device. Unless he'd done it after Niffty had let him into the room today while Alastor had been effectively dead to Hell. (Whenever he had used up too much of his power, had gotten badly injured, or both, he tended to sleep like a rock instead of his usual light slumber.)

He flicked his wrist, the phone teleporting off its charger and into his free hand. He released his ear as he looked down at the device.

"...Did you really send me lewds?"
