Alastor sighed. "It's better if I show you."

He then cast his gaze towards the darkest parts of the room which had small patches of lighter shadows in sets of two.

"You can come out."

Immediately, little shadow creatures swarmed into the main part of the room, surrounding the duo on the floor, on the ceiling, and even positioned around the bed. They didn't speak a word that Angel could hear but Alastor could hear them loud and clear.

"One at a time," he reminded them. "When you're all chattering at once, it gives me a headache."
