Alastor had a soft spot for the little shadow creatures. They weren't bound to him like his personal shadow and could come and go as they pleased, but they had been his primary source of company after his big debut. Until Niffty came along, he'd been all alone with nothing but his own thoughts, his internal receiver, and their chittering to accompany him. Really, they were less like pets to him and more like children. They could talk, after all, but no one else could hear them.
He was a monster that scared the other monsters. He selected the worst of the worst for his meals, passing over those like the lamb demon in the butcher shop. Like a forest fire, his purpose was to burn away the deadwood and allow for new growth. And like a forest fire, nobody liked being around him in case they got burned.
Alastor snorted at Angel's comment, folding his hands neatly in his lap. "No one would ever believe it even if they saw it for themselves. I am the Radio Demon after all."
And as everyone knew the Radio Demon had no heart.
